Students of School of Foreign Language won the prize in “Innovation Start-up Contest”

On October 6, at the Convention Center of Thai Nguyen University, Thai Nguyen University collaborated with Thai Nguyen Department of Science and Technology to organize a seminar with the topic “Start-up in Thai Nguyen” and awarded the prizes of the innovation start-up competition in 2020.

Attending the seminar were Mr. Pham Hong Quat – Director General of National Agency for Technology Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Development (Ministry of Science and Technology), PhD. Pham Quoc Chinh – Director of Thai Nguyen Department of Science and Technology, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Huu Cong – Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen University, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Van – Deputy Director of Thai Nguyen University, Deputy Head of the Organizing Committee of the festival; experts, speakers in the field of innovative startups and a large number of students of Thai Nguyen University.
The program “Start-up in Thai Nguyen” included many meaningful activities, such as seminars, the final round of the innovation start-up contest…. At the seminar, “CEC’s coffee corner” is the corner to display the startup model of SFL’s students, the delegates and visitors can learn about and exchange knowledge about Korean and Chinese cultures through the books, calligraphy; sharing good foreign language learning methods and product experience of coffee, handmade cakes, etc.
Among more than 100 different start-up projects and ideas, SFL was in the top 16 ideas and projects to participate in the final round of the contest. At the end of the contest, the Organizing Committee awarded 1 first prize, 1 second prize, 1 third prize and 2 consolation prizes for outstanding ideas and projects. In particular, the group of CEC (Community English Club) of School of Foreign Languages won the Consolation prize with “Community Learning Corner” project and was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from Director of Thai Nguyen University. In addition, CEC also received a prospective award worth 05 million VND from the Startup Support Center and Knowledge Transfer – Thai Nguyen University of Technology.
The seminar with the theme “Start-up in Thai Nguyen” showed the pride of the revolutionary tradition of Thai Nguyen, and demonstrated the desire to make Thai Nguyen become an innovated and developed province, which is really necessary and completely in line with the goals setting out by the Twentieth Party Congress of Thai Nguyen province. The event “Thai Nguyen Innovation Start-up Day 2020” contributed inspiration in start-up, promoted innovation and scientific research, provided knowledge and skills to start-up, found and supported the implementation of innovative startup ideas for young people, including students in schools.
