A discussion between SFL Board and Students
On November 11, 2019, SFL-TNU held a conversation with students at the TNU Conference Center. This event is annually organized as part of democracy enhancement according to the Ministry of Education and Training. This is an official channel for the SFL Board to understand more about students’ opinions.
Hosts of the conversation: Doctor Tran Thanh Van, Vice President of TNU, Doctor Luu Quang Sang, Vice Dean of SFL-TNU and Doctor Nguyen Minh Son, Deputy Head of the Student Services Office.
From SFL, there was Doctor Le Hong Thang, Dean of SFL, Doctor Luu Quang Sang, Vice Dean of SFL, teachers and students from SFL-TNU. There was also the attendance of Mr. Dang Trung Kien, Director of BIDV Vietnam in Thai Nguyen and Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Duong, Deputy Head of Customer Service Office, and representatives from the Learning Resource Center, and ICTU Health Service.
In his speech, Associate Professor Tran Thanh Van, Vice President of TNU, stressed that the conversation serves as a bi-directional interaction in understanding between students and the School. He requested a strict implementation to solve problems that emerged and to develop a high-quality education.
After listening to the detailed report in 2018, Doctor Luu Quang Sang, Vice Dean of SFL-TNU, discussed the following issues: teaching and learning, equipment, tuition fee, health insurance, student services, internship, library and Youth Union activities. Most of the questions were well-addressed by the organizers and addressed the students’ requests.
At the discussion, Doctor Le Hong Thang, Dean of SFL-TNU, praised the overall straightforwardness and democracy of the discussion. From students’ requests, the school can handle the issues in a timely manner to ensure the best environment for them. The Dean hoped school departments and faculty members would troubleshoot the problems discussed. Meanwhile, students need to exercise discipline, follow Government rules and conduct regular class meetings.
The discussion in 2019 was overall very successful. The Board expressed its trust in students and teachers at SFL-TNU and asked for students’ cooperation and contribution towards the School’s continuing development.
