Thai Nguyen University – School of Foreign Languages accompanies disadvantaged students during the Covid-19 pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has severely affected all areas of people’s lives, including TNU-SFL students. Online learning, exploiting online databases becomes the optimal choice in the situation of temporarily closed lecture halls
For students in difficult circumstances, in addition to having to adapt to online learning, they also face difficulties in arranging personal activities, finding sources to cover living expenses when part-time jobs are suspended, other sources of support are also cut. And there are many students who cannot return to their hometowns because their hometown are in the epidemic area.
In order to share difficulties with students during the Covid 19 pandemic, the Youth Union – Student Union of the TNU-SFL has cooperated with the Trade Union to launch the “Support Program” through the action of connecting, calling, seeking support and joining hands of teachers, staff to take care of and help students facing difficulties due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, including cases such as:
– Students who are currently staying at the dormitory but have to relocate to save the dormitory to use as a centralized isolation area under the direction of Thai Nguyen province.
– Outpatient students in Quyet Thang commune face difficulties.
– Students in dormitory after the end of the epidemic return to study.
After the campaigning period, the TNU-SFL receives 52 million VND in total. In particular, the School of Foreign Languages has deducted 35 million VND to support two localities of Bac Giang and Bac Ninh to prevent and control the COVID-19 epidemic; 11 million VND was transferred to 34 disadvantaged students with the desire to help some of the current difficulties that they are facing, as well as encourage them to feel secure to study and practice. The remaining money is expected to support the well-being of students in dormotory after returning to study.
Once again, the spirit of solidarity and community responsibility of TNU-SFL spreads and brings positive values. Hopefully, meaningful activities will be an inspiration for young people, creating more practical contributions to the journey of unanimously repelling the Covid-19 epidemic in Vietnam.
