In December 1972, the US imperialists launched a strategic air raid on Hanoi, Hai Phong, and Thai Nguyen. B52 flying fortress carpeted hundreds of tons of destructive bombs on the Gang Thep area and many residential areas in Thai Nguyen town. Spilling hatred on the barrels of guns, Thai Nguyen people fought back fiercely, knocking down the two B52 flying fortresses of the US enemy. In the dropped bombs and bullets, the Youth Volunteers, in their twenties, still stood firm, unloaded and released thousands of tons of food and equipment at the key point of Luu Xa station. And on the night of Christmas 24/12/1972, American bombs and bullets fell, robbing the youth, aspirations of 60 soldiers of the Youth Volunteer Company – 60 excellent teenagers, 60 hearts full of faith, enthusiasm for the green age. The blood, bones and mettle of the sisters and brothers merged into the mother’s earth, forming a monument of victory. That sacrifice became a shining example of revolutionary heroism, the immortal epic in the cause of liberation of the South and reunification of the country.
